I went to the Hunter with my partner and another couple. We went on two different tours - one private and one group. The four of us were all really happy with the service we received from James' Vineyard Tours. Meeting Adrienne and James was great, they pick you up from your door and they are such lovely people who go out of their way to make sure you're having a good time. Definitely recommended. We will be using them again next time we visit.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for taking us on our wine tour yesterday. We had a great time, loved the small group we were with and got to visit a lot of unique wineries I know we otherwise would have missed on our visit. We loved getting to learn about wine at Ernest Hill and the tour through the vineyard at Irongate was really interesting. It was much better than if we had done it all ourselves and lunch was amazing too!

Thanks so much again we would be sure to use your company again next time we come to the Hunter and recommend it to all our friends.

Just wanted to thank you for the tour around the vineyards. My family and I had a great day. The hospitality shown to us was fantastic and the wineries that we visited were ones that we had never been to on previous trips. Lunch at Blaxland's was a great treat as well.
Once again thank you, and if we do any tours again, we will certainly call on you!
regards

We had a fantastic day on the tour with Adrian - a great guide with an exceptional knowledge of wine and the Hunter region. We didn't get started till about 11:00/11:30 as two groups from our tour were staying out of the way in Cessnock, but there were few complaints as we got to see some lovely parts of the area. Our group consisted of two mid-20s couples (including my partner and I), a couple in their 30s, and 2 groups of girls in their early 20s - 12 people all up.

On a 10am to 5pm tour we visited 4 wineries with a stop for Blaxlands Inn in the middle. First stop was Ernest Hill Estate followed by my personal favourite, Lucy's Run with the delightful John. The standout was a wonderful Verdelho, followed closely by John's favourite olives and olive oil.

Lunch at Blaxlands got a general thumbs-up for their delicious deep-dish pies, burgers and salads with all at pretty reasonable prices (by Hunter standards). Here Adrian whips out is portable Eftpos machine so everyone can pay for the tour.
After lunch we visited Irongate Estate for a tasting and wine-making tour and McLeish Estate. Then it was onto Peterson's Champagne House for a chocolate tasting with the option for visiting the champagne house on your own (there's a surcharge for tour groups). Last stop was the Smelly Cheese Shop (the one at Pokolbin Village, not Tempus Two) for a cheese tasting and general meandering about the shops before being dropped back at our accommodation.

Higly recommend!

James is a very accommodating, knowledgeable tour guide, we would highly recommend his tour.

We recently had the pleasure of being toured through the Hunter Valley vineyard and wine region by James' Hunter Valley Wine and Vineyard Tours. James was a gracious, entertaining, and extremely knowledgeable host. Even after arriving two hours late (make sure you turn left in Broke, we went straight.....), James was extraordinarily accommodating and patient with a family of neophytes. With James' incredible knowledge of the valley and its vineyards and his very personal relationships with the vineyard owners, James is uniquely qualified to provide and very memorable tour. We would highly recommend him!

I just wanted to provide some feedback on the wine tour my husband & I went on last Saturday – we had an absolutely wonderful time! The tour was fantastic and all the wineries we visited had great hosts & the wines produced were great. We also loved the visit to the Smelly cheese & chocolate shops. Our tour bus driver Kerry was also excellent and led us on a successful day! We will definitely be doing another tour sometime soon and will recommend this company to all of our friends.

Just wanted to say thanks for a great day on Saturday. Your commentary throughout the day was great, and your choice of wineries and venue for lunch was perfect. We all thoroughly enjoyed your tour.

James Myles of James' Hunter Valley Wine and Vineyard Tours (www. vineyardtours.com.au) gave us a most excellent "Exclusively Yours" tour today. In a most comfortable Toyota Landcruiser with four of us on board he took us to four fine boutiques type wineyards (including Molly's Cradle and Sandalyn's) where we sampled the full range of Hunter Valley wines. His knowledge of both the wines and the vineyards (and owners) - generally in the area and specifically with the vineyards visited - made for a most interesting experience and gave us all a far greater insight to the wine business in the area than we could possible have achieved by 'going it alone'. His easy approach and good sense of humour further enhanced the experience. Prior to the visit he also guided us to a most excellent B&B - The Carriages Country House - for which we were grateful. All in all an excellent day and we would be more than happy to recommend James if you are thinking about a visit to the Hunter Valley. David and Christian

Just wanted to recommend James' Hunter Valley Wine Tour... we had a great day. James himself was our tour guide--he knew a lot about wine, the wine-making process, and the region, including lots of fun local history and gossip. He picked us up precisely on time from our hotel and we were off in a van along with five other couples. We visited four vineyards/wineries (Iron Gate, Sandalyn, Savannah Estates, and one other whose name I forget), plus the Smelly Cheese Shop and the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company. We loved the wine at Sandalyn and the delightful pourer, Rita, at Savannah Estates (plus we loved their port).

For lunch we were on our own in the Hunter Valley Gardens shopping center; the choices weren't inspiring, but I see why James chose that location since there were several options and people could choose what they preferred.

Overall, we had a great time and tasted some great wine. The tour was great value compared to comparable options, as well. Thanks, James!
